Vintage patchwork quilt featuring a classic Trip Around the World pattern
Measures approximately 80” x 84”
Based on the construction, coordinated fabrics and remnants of an original sewn-in label, this is believed to be a commercially produced hand-quilted quilt, likely dating to the late 1980s–1990s
Beautiful soft color palette of aqua blue, dusty rose, blush pink, pale yellow, cream and muted green
Constructed from an assortment of coordinating floral, calico and small-scale printed cotton fabrics
Quilt top appears to be machine pieced and hand quilted
Extensive hand quilting throughout, including straight-line, curved and decorative quilted motifs
The variation in the individual quilting stitches is visible from both the front and reverse
Finished with a soft blue/aqua binding around the perimeter
Reverse is a solid light cream/off-white cotton, allowing the detailed quilting pattern to be especially visible
Quilts of this type were often machine pieced and then quilted entirely by hand
Original manufacturer cannot be confirmed because nearly all of the sewn-in label has been removed
Nicely broken-in with the soft, lightly puckered texture that comes from age, use and hand quilting
Condition: Vintage condition with expected signs of previous use and age
There is one small area of fabric loss/hole on the quilt top, as shown in the close-up photos
Some minor scattered wear, loose threads and light age-related imperfections may be present
