Vintage Hand Stitched Postage Stamp Patchwork Crib Quilt

This perfectly imperfect patchwork quilt is constructed in a postage stamp or checkerboard grid pattern. The quilt top is composed of numerous small, square and diamond-shaped fabric pieces in a variety of printed and solid cotton fabrics. Fabric patterns include floral motifs, ginghams, polka dots, and stripes in a primary color palette of blue, red, green, and yellow. The central patchwork section is framed by a wide, solid cream-colored fabric border. The reverse side features a three-panel cream fabric backing.

Hand-quilted stitching is visible throughout the textile, following diagonal lines across the patchwork center and concentric rectangles within the border. The construction utilizes machine-pieced squares and hand-quilting techniques.
